Hello you scurvy dogs. I'm a relatively new commissioner and I'm looking for advice on keeping dynasty leagues active and engaged for many years. I'm willing to go that extra mile for sure, so give me your ideas!

Make sure starting roster is not too small, pretty easy to start a few studs every week and limits waiver wire, trade activity and roster management is non existant! I like superflex with a TE premium starting 10-11 players in a 12 team league. Same idea with bench spots, if its too large then waiver wire is bare and trade activity is low. 12 teams with a 10 man lineup really shouldnt go over 30 man roster to include IR/Taxi. If everyone has large rosters like 40 players then there is nothing on waivers and trades generally don't happen too often when you can pull from so many players when it comes to injuries or byes. I like the league median setting and using max points to determine draft order so you don't have to mess with people not setting competitive rosters and it irons out rebuilders. It promotes trading as well, in order to tank and get good draft capital players on your bench still count towards max points and encourages teams to trade and make moves rather than just sitting good players on the bench. Set league rules ahead of time and save it on the pinned messages on league chat! Make some fun league rewards/punishment for winners and last place to keep managers engaged and force participation. Stay envolved each week to make sure managers are putting IR players in IR slots, setting lineups and responding to league chats/trades etc.
