From what I understand, Darnold canât be CPOY. Apparently the committee was pissed about Mayfield getting it, as itâs intended for a player that ascended to âgreatnessâ, fell off (usually due to injury or major issue) and came back to greatness. Seems like an asinine and arbitrary stance to take, but thatâs just what Iâve heard.
